SAMS has welcomed Derek and Dorothy Washington has Pastors to our missionaries. In their pastoral role, they will come alongside missionaries in hopes of encouraging them and coaching them as they serve cross-culturally. They do this with on-site pastoral visits, regular contact via phone and related technology, sending specific resources related to aspects of missionary life, as well as providing resources to uplift and build the inner spiritual life of the missionary. They provide missionary care retreats abroad, as well as marriage retreats. Their own personal experiences and understanding of the difficulties many missionaries face helps them server in this capacity.
