Margarita Grachen, SAMS Missionary serving in Honduras
Ms. Grachen, a native of Puerto Rico, is currently serving as a SAMS missionary in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Ms. Grachen is providing leadership to a project that is establishing a daycare center and an orphanage in Villanueva, a municipality about 20 minutes from San Pedro Sula. “Los Amiguitos de Jesús” (Jesus’ little friends) is the name of the project and will be the name of both the “Guarderia” (daycare center) and the “Hogar” (orphanage). The mission of “Los Amiguitos de Jesús” is to provide a safe, healthy, Christian environment where the children of Honduras can grow, learn about Jesus and prepare themselves to be the future honorable leaders of the Church and the country.
Prior to becoming a missionary Ms. Grachen was a Vice President at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her 24 years of banking experience she held numerous positions such as credit analyst, lending officer, investment officer, treasury management officer, sales manager, customer service manager and product/project manager. Ms. Grachen earned a B.S. in Economics and an MBA from West Virginia University.
Ms. Grachen’s desire is to help the children and to share with others her joy, found in Jesus Christ. She is the mother of two adopted daughters from China.
