Bible Study Program: Chaplaincy: Three days a week Shirley is chaplain of a Christian Girls High School, leading them in worship, praise, prayer and bible study. Mentoring: Shirley's home has become a gathering place for young volunteers from the west and high schoolers who are exploring their faith and looking to go deeper into the Word. Scholarship program: A computer scholarship is awarded every quarter to four young women who show promise, have good grades, and ability to use her new skills in acquiring a job or being promoted in her present job. Just about every student graduated now has a job. The last one received an offer less than one month after graduating. There are also scholarships offered to students at Canon Njangali High School for Girls where Shirley is chaplain. Eleven girls are currently sponsored by friends from America and she monitors and coordinates these scholarships. Naomi's Watch: An outreach to widows of the parish has begun in the parish of Kigaaya. Currently a pilot program which will be parish-based, we seek to fulfill God's command to take care of the widows and orphans among us. If this program works well in Kigaaya (and it looks like it is doing exceptionally well) then Shirley will move on to another parish and begin it there until she has covered all main parishes in Bunyoro Kitara Diocese.
